Costa Rican Temporary Residency needs to be renewed after 2 years. The expiration date in on the ID card (DIMEX). You can start the renewal process upt to 3 months prior to the expiration date of your residency
Renewal requirements will vary as per your residency category. Nonetheless, the following are always required:
- Valid local ID card (DIMEX),
- Valid passport.
- Proof of affiliation and up to date with the Caja payments.
- Completed and signed consent form.
